The purpose of this study is to analyze the epidemiological profile of viral hepatitis in southeastern Brazil between 2018 and 2022. This is an ecological, quantitative and descriptive article, which used the Notifiable Diseases Information System to obtain data, which was then processed on the Microsoft Excel platform. With this data, the results of this study were generated, indicating that the state of São Paulo was the region with the highest number of viral hepatitis, with 45,794 cases, and that the male population had 36,479 confirmed cases, while the female population had 28,348 confirmed cases of hepatitis. In all the states, the most affected age group was the same and it was also found that in 2018 and 2019 there was the highest recording of hepatitis in the whole of the Southeast. This study concludes that the profile most affected by this disease is made up of males aged between 40 and 59 and of brown or white race, and that viral hepatitis is still a public health problem that merits further scientific investigation in order to better understand it and generate resolutive proposals.
