The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a methodology widely used in medical education to assess students' clinical skills. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the OSCE on medical education, using the PRISMA methodology for a systematic literature review. PubMed, SciELO and VHL databases were searched, covering the last five years, and studies were selected that compared educational outcomes before and after the implementation of the OSCE. After screening and analyzing the 150 studies initially found, 10 studies were included in the review. The results indicate that the adoption of the OSCE is associated with a significant improvement in clinical skills, student confidence and satisfaction with the assessment process. It is concluded that the OSCE is an effective tool for medical education, providing better educational outcomes and preparing students for clinical practice.
