Abstract
This study investigated the prevalence and demographic patterns of work-related mental disorders in Brazil from 2013 to 2023, using data from official notifications. Over the decade, a significant increase in notifications was observed, culminating in 19,644 cases, with a peak in 2023. Women were disproportionately affected, representing 65.8% of the cases, while the age group of 35 to 49 years was the most vulnerable, reflecting the pressures associated with the peak of professional life. Geographically, the Southeast and Northeast regions accounted for the majority of notifications, highlighting regional disparities in access to mental health resources and adverse socioeconomic conditions. The analysis also revealed that most cases resulted in temporary disability, with a substantial number of workers suffering from permanent disabilities, underscoring the severity of work-related mental disorders. These results emphasize the urgent need for public policies and organizational interventions that address demographic and regional specifics, promoting healthy and accessible work environments. The study concludes that an integrated and collaborative approach is crucial to mitigate the impacts of mental disorders in the workplace and ensure the health and well-being of Brazilian workers.
