Abstract

Introduction: Traumatic hemorrhage is a critical medical emergency that occurs when there is significant blood loss due to traumatic injuries. This condition is one of the leading preventable causes of death in trauma victims, making urgent control and management essential for survival. The introduction of rapid and effective protocols, along with technological advances, plays a vital role in reducing mortality associated with these injuries. Objective: To address the strategies and interventions necessary to quickly control blood loss in trauma patients, in order to stabilize the clinical picture and prevent serious complications, including hemorrhagic shock and death. Methodology: The Cochrane, Scielo and Medline databases were used, searching for articles published between 2023 and 2024, in Portuguese or English. Final Considerations: Rapid identification of the source of bleeding and the use of control techniques, such as tourniquets and hemostatic agents, are essential to contain blood loss. Furthermore, volume replacement and hemodynamic stabilization are crucial to prevent hemorrhagic shock. Therefore, well-established protocols, continuous training and the use of advanced technologies are essential to improve clinical outcomes and reduce mortality.
