A reforma psiquiátrica no SUS e um debate sobre a luta por uma sociedade sem manicômios: uma revisão integrativa

Abstract

The article provides a historical and epistemological overview of the evolution of public policies on mental health and psychosocial care within the scope of the SUS. To this end, it adopts an approach that highlights actions and strategies related to social participation, one of the pillars of the SUS, and emphasizes the relevance of this aspect in the context of psychiatric reform in Brazil. Furthermore, it highlights the originality and importance of the insertion of culture as a means and end in the process, expanding the reform beyond health services and highlighting the construction of a new social space for madness. The text also analyzes the evolution of mental health policies over time, identifying key initiatives and their impacts on the transformation of the care model, and raises questions about the current conservative trend that appears.
