Abstract

This article aims to analyze the profile of patients registered by the nephrology team for kidney transplantation, taking into account patients who underwent a surgical procedure for preparation and activation in the register on the pediatric kidney transplantation in a reference hospital. It has been observed that a considerable number of patients have progressed to end-stage renal disease to congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT), and surgical treatment options provide the patient with good bladder capacity, free of alterations in the upper urinary tract which gives the graft a greater chance of success. It was observed in this study that patients submitted to pre-transplantation preparation evolved satisfactorily, with a short period of hospitalization, being mostly activated in the renal transplantation after the interventions in a short period of time.
