Abstract

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Cardiorespiratory arrest involves a very serious and dramatic situation for the patient's health,
being responsible for a high mortality and morbidity rate, even when care is provided correctly and quickly. It
consists of a sudden interruption of systemic circulation and breathing, and we have a decrease in the transport
of oxygen and nutrients to the patient, which makes CPA a serious medical emergency. According to the
Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC), more than 320,000 deaths per year occur due to CA, and the main
causal factor is ischemic cardiovascular diseases and, consequently, arrhythmias that can be lethal to the
patient. Therefore, the knowledge of patient life support – with its protocols and maneuvers – becomes a
necessity to be discussed and studied, since if it is applied correctly, it can lead to a positive outcome for the
patient. Objective: to recognize the level of knowledge of academics at this university on the topic proposed in
the study. So that with this data cataloged and evaluated, we can create measures so that this knowledge is
disseminated among students. Since knowledge on the subject can have a positive impact on the health of
society. Methodology: This study will take an observational, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative
approach with students from the Centro Universitário Fundação Assis Gurgacz courses, using a questionnaire
with basic questions on the subject, which will be applied through the Google platform Forms, online. Result
and Conclusion: it was observed that, according to the results, the major areas of knowledge do not present
statistically significant differences
