Abstract
Introduction: Dental professionals are trained in order to identify oral problems in patients and population groups, carrying out procedures for their prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control, with reference to health promotion. Objective: The present study aims to evaluate the dental market in the state of Pará in order to observe the differences between the urban center region and the interior, whether or not there is an overload of professionals. Methodology: This work is a quantitative study, in which the researcher does not interact with the sample population directly, but by collecting observational data, which were obtained by analyzing virtual data from official sources. Results and Discussion: It is possible to see that Orthodontics is the most sought after specialty, to the detriment of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD), which is presented as the least sought after specialty by DS. Dental specialties in Brazil are diverse, but in the North region, specifically in the state of Pará, some specialties in dentistry were never registered in the CRO-PA, such as sports dentistry. Conclusion: The study demonstrated a saturation of professionals in the capital of Pará and in the metropolitan region, in contrast to a deep shortage in cities with a smaller number of inhabitants.
