Multidisciplinary work involves collaboration between professionals from different fields to provide comprehensive care and improve patient outcomes. Implementing this approach can enhance the quality of care, but the lack of trained graduates to work in multidisciplinary teams remains a challenge. The aim of this work is to report the experience of medical students, along with students from the courses of Gastronomy and Nutrition, in workshops aimed at promoting healthy eating habits in the local community. This is an observational, qualitative, and descriptive study based on the experiences of medical students from a university in the state of Goiás, who, in collaboration with trainees from other fields of knowledge, organized three workshops on healthy eating and habits for the population. As a result, the workshops addressed healthy eating and obesity prevention, with activities on sodium and sugar in processed foods, differentiation between processed and ultra-processed foods, use of labeling applications, and presentation of nutritional tables and the food pyramid. With more than 400 participants, the event was well received and highlighted the importance of more educational initiatives. It is concluded that the workshops were fundamental for raising awareness about balanced eating and obesity prevention. Continuation of these initiatives is crucial to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent diseases related to diet and unsustainable behaviors. Furthermore, the initiative also provided practical and humanized training for medical students, contributing to the interdisciplinary approach in healthcare.
