This article aims to comprehensively review recent advances in the treatment of uterine fibroids. The Pubmed Science database was used as search engines to select articles, using the keywords “Myoma”, “Surgical intervention”, “Pharmacological treatment”. It is concluded that techniques such as uterine artery embolization (UAE) and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy have shown significant effectiveness, reducing symptoms and fibroid volume with faster recovery times. Furthermore, pharmacological therapies, including selective progesterone receptor modulators and GnRH receptor antagonists, offer valuable alternatives, especially for patients who wish to preserve fertility. Other therapeutic approaches include the use of aromatase inhibitors and oral combinations such as relugolix acetate, estradiol and norethisterone, but further studies are needed to ensure their long-term efficacy and safety. The choice of treatment must take into account not only the severity of the symptoms and the size of the fibroids, but also the individual needs of the patient.
