Bipolar disorder (BD) is a serious psychiatric disorder, characterized by mood changes and involvement in neurochemical, psychological, social, professional, family and economic aspects. The literature shows difficulties in several cognitive domains in cancer patients, which persist even during periods of rest. Therefore, with the aim of deepening knowledge and clarifying concepts, we carried out a literature review considering the historical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of tuberculosis. The purpose of this article is to describe aspects of tuberculosis, including treatment methods, medications, support groups, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, and electronic therapy. It is believed that focusing on topics related to the nature of tuberculosis will contribute to the better preparation of relevant health professionals, so that they can formulate treatment plans and guide patients and their families, understand the disease, manage symptoms and improve relationships emotional, social and professional.
