Abstract

The aim of this study is to understand the flare -up phenomenon. It is important to understand that even if the endodontic treatment is done with all the careful procedure of care, this phenomenon can happen. The following will explain what this phenomenon and ways to prevent and treat it. In order to prevent pain, the professional must obey the chemical, physical and biological principles of endodontic treatment and correctly select the correct instrumentation. The pathology of the flare -up is an intriguing dilemma for endodontics professionals on the measures to be taken to solve this phenomenon. This work is a literary and literature review done on the incidence of sensitivity and increase of pain in patients who do endodontic treatment. This study allowed us to understand the extreme importance that exists in the interaction between patient and dentist, as a correct diagnosis in an efficient clinic can avoid the incidence of flare-ups, and when it is not possible to avoid it, the interaction between professional and patient can contribute to a quick solution to endodontic emergencies between one treatment session and another.
