Abstract
This article aims to scan the current medical literature on Takotsubo Syndrome. Integrative review in the VHL, LILACS, SciELO, PubMed database of works published between 2019 and 2023, combining the descriptors "broken heart syndrome", "takotsubo" and "stress cardiomyopathy" with the Boolean descriptor "AND". Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a clinical syndrome that represents ventricular inotropic dysfunction (mainly left), which leads to clinical signs and symptoms identical to those of Acute Myocardial Infarction, being a differential diagnosis of chest pain in the emergency, mainly in the group of menopausal women, with its difference characterized by the absence of coronary diseases, confirmed by coronary angiography, other artifacts can be used for diagnosis such as: echocardiogram and Mayo criteria.
