Abstract
The basic anatomical understanding of aesthetic medicine has changed a lot since the turn of the millennium. With the advent of modern minimally invasive injection procedures with botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid fillers, anatomical structures that previously received little attention and were not considered relevant gained importance and became a scientific focus. Thus, given the high demand for rejuvenating treatments, it is important to develop research that elucidates patient safety, the novelties in the area. Therefore, the objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of using BTX to prevent expression lines. Therefore, a literature review was developed with online data search in the virtual health library with interface in databases made available by it. Through research, it was possible to identify that preventive treatment with BTX to reduce expression lines is effective, therefore, professionals must assist patients by observing and aligning their needs.
