Abstract

Postoperative pain management poses a common challenge impacting patient recovery and quality of life. This narrative review explores recent advances in postoperative pain management, emphasizing the shift from traditional opioid-based approaches to multimodal, multidisciplinary strategies. The article discusses the combined use of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies, such as non-opioid analgesics, nerve blocks, acupuncture, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, aiming to reduce opioid dependence and enhance clinical outcomes.
