This study investigated the incidence of leprosy in Brazilian regions in the time between 2019 and 2023. Leprosy is a chronic granulomatous infection, also known as leprosy. Leprosy is an infectious disease that causes pathology that affects the skin with characteristic lesions, peripheral nervous system (PNS) and internal organs, this caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae. The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence of leprosy cases in the Brazilian population in the last 5 years. Thus, it will be possible to form public health policies and interventions aimed at the prevention and control of health related to leprosy in all regions of Brazil. This is a descriptive epidemiological study. Data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System of the Brazilian Ministry of Health (DATASUS) were analyzed. Bibliographic research was used as an instrument, using MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS and SciELO as databases. The selected participants were adult male and female patients from all regions of Brazil, from 2019 to 2023. Reports of the year of diagnosis and registration for leprosy were prepared, considering variables such as the region where the test was performed, age group, and leprosy diagnoses. Analysis of the frequency of leprosy diagnoses in Brazil between 2019 and 2023 indicates a general trend of decline in the number of cases after 2019. However, it is still crucial to maintain ongoing efforts to raise awareness, early detection, and access health services.
