Abstract

The objective of this article is to critically review the current literature on post-trauma facial reconstruction and its psychosocial implications. An extensive literature review was carried out to identify relevant studies regarding the proposal of the present study. Electronic databases, such as PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar, were consulted to obtain published articles. The study emphasized the importance of integrated and multidisciplinary approaches in the treatment of post-trauma facial reconstruction. The results highlighted the fundamental role of surgical procedures and rehabilitation therapies in restoring facial function and aesthetics, as well as the need for psychosocial interventions to promote patients' mental well-being. Social and family support was considered crucial to strengthening individuals' resilience and facilitating their adaptation to physical and emotional changes. It is concluded that a holistic approach is essential to ensure a complete recovery and a better quality of life for patients undergoing post-trauma facial reconstruction.
