Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate how the climacteric phase can affect the quality of life of women. METHODS: Literature review, conducted in the year 2021, through the SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library on Line) and PubMed (National Library of Medicine) databases, using the Boolean "AND" and the following descriptors: "Climacteric", "women's health", "quality of life" and "sexuality", registered in the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS). Fourteen articles comprised the construction of this work. RESULTS: From the selected databases we initially obtained 203 articles. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, as well as the analysis of the filtered articles, 14 studies remained to compose this review. CONCLUSION: The quality of life of women in this phase deserves special attention, and it is essential that the health team monitor and define strategies to determine a healthier lifestyle.
