In this article, was conducted a literature review on the use of Cannabis for the treatment of migraines in which 28 articles were analyzed, including case studies, cross-sectional studies, clinical trials, among others. Migraine is a very disabling chronic disease that affects around 15% of the world’s population. Different medications are used in the treatment of migraines, and since cannabis use in many diseases is increasing, it is interesting to consider its use in migraines too. The results highlight the importance of observing if the treatment is actually helping, and being sure that it is not causing any damage or making it worse. The conclusion was that the use of cannabis in the treatment of migraine in some studies was effective, while others considered that it was not, concluding that more studies are still needed to analyze the risk, benefit and effectiveness of this method of treatment.
