Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive review of nutritional and pharmacological interventions in the management of obesity, highlighting the best practices and innovative approaches identified in the literature up to April 2023. The introduction contextualizes obesity as a growing public health challenge, emphasizing the need for effective treatments. The methodology describes the detailed search strategy used to select relevant studies, including databases, search terms, and inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results synthesize the main findings, demonstrating the efficacy of an integrated approach combining diet, medications, and behavioral support, tailored to individual needs. The discussion addresses the implications of these findings, the limitations of current studies, and recommendations for future research. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of personalized and multidisciplinary treatment in obesity management, and points to the need for continuous innovations in therapies and public health policies. This study highlights the complexity of obesity management and the need for approaches that go beyond the simple prescription of diets or medications, emphasizing personalization, continuous behavioral support, and equitable access to treatment.
