Abstract
This article aims to review the current medical literature on nephrolithiasis, addressing its symptoms, causes and diagnostic methods. Nephrolithiasis is one of the most common urological diseases, and it is important to distinguish it from nephrocalcinosis, which involves calcification of the renal parenchyma. Recent studies have shown an increase in the number of cases diagnosed annually, with a predominance of nephrolithiasis in men, as evidenced by epidemiological studies. The methodology used included a bibliographic review of relevant articles on the topic.
