Abstract

This is an integrative literature review carried out in March 2021 in the electronic databases LILACS and MedLine/Pubmed on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the emergence or worsening of psychological problems in students. With the adoption of social distancing and quarantine measures, psychological changes characterized by fear, anxiety, anger and depression were observed both in individuals with pre-existing conditions and in those who had never previously presented psychological disorders. Therefore, the implementation of strategies that enable professional human assistance, as well as social support, providing psychological treatment, comfort, relief from distress and help in cases of crisis is essential in order to reduce the levels of stress, anxiety and depression among students.
