Abstract

This article aims to outline the clinical-epidemiological profile of Congenital Syphilis in Brazil. Descriptive epidemiological study as registered in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN) in Brazil. Data collection was carried out from February to March 2024. The Congenital Syphilis (CS) incidence rate was calculated according to the collection of epidemiological data from 2019 to 2023. The database of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics was used (IBGE) to obtain numbers of live births in the period investigated. It can be inferred that there is a failure to adequately treat syphilis during pregnancy.
