Abstract
Introduction: Health is one of the main basic needs of human beings so that they can exercise their profession, have leisure, live in society, but without quality of life, this process may not occur satisfactorily, for example, in individuals infected with the Virus of Human Immunodeficiency (HIV). The impact of the disease can result in the acquisition of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Infection and pathology generate profound consequences from the manifestation of cardiovascular diseases to the death of the patient. Objective: To analyze the main aspects of heart failure associated with the human immunodeficiency virus. Methodology: A literature review study, with a selection of ten Brazilian publications, collected from 2013 to 2022 in the Virtual Health Library databases that direct to the Lilacs, Medline, PubMed, among others. The data were treated by the qualitative method. Results: Most works discuss the infection associated with numerous heart diseases in a general context, with incipient research and specific studies on heart failure. Conclusion: There is a need for more discussions and studies that have as their object of study heart failure resulting from the human immunodeficiency virus to provide doctors, nurses and other health professionals with sources of research, with greater specificity and statistical data that show the scenario of this relationship.
