Abstract
Early mobilization is a common practice in Intensive Care Units. This article aimed to investigate the impacts of early mobilization on critically ill patients. To this end, an integrative bibliographical research was carried out in the Scielo and Pubmed databases, using the key words: early mobilization, ICU and length of stay, with articles selected from 2015-2024 that had a direct relationship with the topic. , using the Boolean operators “and”, “or” and “not”, in which 8 scientific articles were selected. The results showed the benefits of early mobilization in terms of gait, increased muscular resistance, shorter time on mechanical ventilation, psychological improvement and others. More studies on the topic should be encouraged in Brazil and around the world to better clarify the topic and encourage practice.
