Spinal and General Anesthesia in Complex Surgeries: Integration Strategies to Optimize Results

Introduction: The relationship between spinal anesthesia and general anesthesia is considered an effective integration that results in the optimization of positive results. With adequate medical analysis and correct monitoring, it is possible to seek the benefits of both procedures. This combination results in improved postoperative analgesia and also reduces the risk of possible interventions and complications. Objective: To understand the relationship between the two techniques and how they can be integrated to optimize surgical results. Conclusion: Finally, by customizing strategies according to the individual needs of each patient, it is noted that healthcare professionals are able to improve the surgical experience, giving priority to the safety and effectiveness of the patient's general well-being. Furthermore, the synergy between spinal anesthesia and general anesthesia can achieve benefits such as reduced consumption of systemic anesthetic agents and a more controlled anti-inflammatory response. In this way, it facilitates the postoperative period and promotes a reduction in the length of stay in the hospital.
