Abstract
The use and abuse of licit and illicit drugs interferes with well-being, quality of life and interpersonal relationships, and can leave users on the margins of society, leading them to dependence, which can result in damage to mental and physical health. It is necessary to observe in the treatment of chemical dependency in two main aspects, detoxification, to remove the effects of the substances, and the reorganization of the individual's life without the use of the drug. Therefore, the objective of this systematic review of the literature on the pharmacological profile adopted in the detoxification treatment of chemical dependents was to identify, evaluate and compare the pharmacological parameters applied in publications in academic Google databases, Scielo, Medline, Pubmed and in online libraries. of colleges in Brazil in the last 20 years. A total of 1,054 articles were analyzed and, based on the inclusion criteria, 24 articles on detoxification from marijuana, cocaine, tobacco, alcohol, amphetamines and opioids were selected based on the use of medication. As a conclusion of the study, there is confirmation from literary evidence that some drugs are effective and promising for drug detoxification. However, in general, more detailed studies are needed to obtain an official pharmacotherapy for the treatment according to the specific addiction drug that is safe and effective.
