Abstract
This article aims to understand, describe and analyze the epidemiological profile of deaths due to septicemia in women of childbearing age and maternal deaths in Brazil between 2017 and 2021. A retrospective, quantitative and descriptive ecological epidemiological study was carried out, based on the collection of data through the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), on the SUS digital database platform (DATASUS). There was a greater concentration of cases of deaths due to septicemia in women of childbearing age in the Southeast region, aged between 40 and 49 years, mixed race, mainly in women who were neither pregnant nor having recently given birth and with 8 to 11 years of education.
