Resumo
O sucesso a longo prazo das restaurações de cerâmica pura depende da adesão entre o material cerâmico e a estrutura do dente, sendo de suma importância a seleção correta do tratamento de superfície. Objetivo: Foi realizada uma revisão da literatura para avaliar o melhor protocolo de tratamento para a superfície de cerâmicas vítreas, a fim de proporcionar uma adequada adesão protética do material restaurador. Metodologia: Para isso, utilizou-se artigos científicos disponíveis na base de dados PubMed, usando os seguintes descritores “Cerâmica”, “Cimentação”, “Superfície” e “Tratamento”. Resultados: A ligação cerâmica-cimento-dente estará sujeita a um ambiente complexo na cavidade oral, sendo influenciada por vários fatores extrínsecos, como mudança de temperatura, saliva, ingestão diária de alimentos e bebidas, força de mordida e outros hábitos. Para alcançar uma boa qualidade de adesão é importante considerar o tipo de cerâmica, as características da superfície e as propriedades mecânicas desejadas, para assim escolher o melhor protocolo de condicionamento. Conclusão: Concluiu-se que o tratamento de superfície com ácido fluorídrico e silano ainda é considerado o padrão ouro para as vitrocerâmicas, entretanto, o primer cerâmico autocondicionante apresenta resultados promissores.
