IMPACTO DA HESITAÇÃO VACINAL SOBRE SURTOS DE DOENÇAS IMUNOPREVENÍVEIS: ANÁLISE EPIDEMIOLÓGICA GLOBAL

Resumo

A hesitação vacinal é um conceito definido pela Organização Mundial da Saúde para caracterizar a recusa ou o atraso em aceitar vacinas, mesmo que disponíveis pelos serviços de imunização. Desde 2019, a hesitação integra o rol das dez maiores ameaças à saúde global. Esta revisão narrativa de literatura teve como objetivo analisar o impacto da hesitação vacinal na ocorrência de surtos de doenças imunopreveníveis globalmente sob a perspectiva epidemiológica. Foram analisadas publicações em maioria concentradas nos últimos dez anos (2016-2026), com prioridade aos últimos cinco anos, extraídas por levantamento bibliográfico em bases de dados nacionais e internacionais, sobretudo PubMed, Scientific Electronic Library Online e Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde, entre outros, selecionadas a partir de sua pertinência ao tema e credibilidade. O estudo evidenciou que a estagnação pós-pandêmica das coberturas vacinais, somada à dificuldades de acesso vacinal e à erosão crescente da confiança em instituições e práticas de saúde (alimentada pela infodemia e desinformação virtual), formou bolhões vulneráveis à reemergência de doenças imunopreveníveis globalmente. Assim, a hesitação vacinal representa um determinante epidemiológico de primeira ordem à reemergência de doenças evitáveis, mas não unicamente responsável por esse fenômeno, que requer medidas plurais de restauração da confiança, comunicação transparente e fortalecimento na confiança em sistemas de saúde, sobretudo atenção primária, e a partir da atuação dos profissionais de saúde, especialmente de Medicina e Enfermagem.
