The 21st Century brought light to the process of dental desmineralization and remineralization inside the oral cavity, the differences between the acute and chronic processes, and how dental materials can reduce bacteria and metalloproteinases inside the dental cavity while improving intrinsic and extrinsic remineralization in the affected dentin, reducing the dependence on dental handpiece, and increasing patient compliance, but despite the evolution of restorative dental materials like glass ionomer (GIC), resin modified glass ionomer (RMGI) and dental composite (DC); young patient management, removal of infected dentin, affected dentin remineralization, dentin bonding, and melanoidins dying aesthetic regions remains a challenge.
