Resumo
Objetivo: apresentar uma revisão da literatura sobre as possíveis complicações pós-operatórias em pacientes submetidos ao procedimento de Coronectomia em Terceiro Molar Mandibular apresentaram. Métodos: foram realizadas pesquisas em bancos de dados online, tais como Scielo, PubMed, BVS, Google Scholar e Cochrane Library - para selecionar estudos, relatos de casos ou qualquer trabalho devidamente publicado que possa conter dados sobre complicações pós-operatórios de coronectomias realizadas em terceiros molares mandibulares. Resultados: de todas as complicações compiladas neste presente estudo, nenhuma delas apresentou uma alta taxa de frequência. A parestesia permanente do nervo alveolar inferior, a principal causa para a escolha da coronectomia, demonstrou-se ser de baixa frequência de ocorrência. Considerações Finais: A Coronectomia Intencional de Terceiros Molares Mandibulares cumpre sua função, qual seja, tratar sinais e sintomas que seriam tratados com a extração de um terceiro molar mandibular sem causar lesões ao nervo alveolar inferior. Assim, reforça-se que o procedimento é seguro e de baixo risco.
