Resumo

Os profissionais da saúde constituem um dos grupos mais vulneráveis ao adoecimento psíquico, devido à combinação de exigências emocionais, sobrecarga laboral, longas jornadas e exposição contínua ao sofrimento humano. A literatura evidencia prevalências elevadas de transtornos mentais, especialmente ansiedade, depressão e Síndrome de Burnout, que já se manifestam desde o período de formação, intensificando-se com a entrada no mercado de trabalho. Entre médicos e enfermeiros, o Burnout é frequentemente relacionado à exaustão emocional, despersonalização e redução da realização profissional, repercutindo negativamente na qualidade da assistência, no desempenho clínico e na segurança do paciente. A pandemia de COVID-19 agravou significativamente esse cenário ao impor maior carga física e emocional, ampliando níveis de estresse, sintomas depressivos e risco de esgotamento. Fatores como estigma em relação à busca por apoio, déficit de recursos, conflitos de valores e fragilidade organizacional contribuem para a manutenção do sofrimento psíquico. Diante desse contexto, torna-se essencial adotar estratégias institucionais e educacionais voltadas à promoção da saúde mental, fortalecimento de redes de apoio, melhoria das condições de trabalho e redução de fatores estressores, com objetivo de preservar o bem-estar dos profissionais e assegurar a qualidade dos serviços de saúde.
