Resumo
A peri-implantite é uma doença inflamatória que acomete os tecidos peri-implantares, caracterizando-se por perda óssea progressiva associada à inflamação da mucosa ao redor do implante. Este trabalho tem como objetivo revisar a literatura acerca da etiologia, fatores de risco, diagnóstico e tratamento da peri-implantite, destacando as principais condutas clínicas baseadas em evidências científicas. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa com seleção de artigos publicados entre 2015 e 2025 nas bases Scielo, PubMed, BVS e Google Acadêmico. Os resultados apontam que o controle mecânico de biofilme, o acompanhamento profissional regular e a escolha adequada entre terapias cirúrgicas e não cirúrgicas são fundamentais no manejo da condição. Conclui-se que a prevenção e o diagnóstico precoce são as principais estratégias para o sucesso a longo prazo dos implantes dentários.
