Resumo
Este artigo tem por objetivo realizar uma varredura da literatura médica vigente sobre o Diagnóstico Tardio de Transtorno do Espectro do Autismo (TEA) em Adultos, visando na melhora da qualidade de vida dos pacientes adultos e na identificação de sinais clínicos, nas quais geram dificuldades sociais, comunicativas e comportamentais que esses enfrentam. Mediante o banco de dados PubMed, foi realizada a leitura do título e do resumo de 186 artigos e, desses, a seleção de 14, por meio dos termos específicos “O Impacto do Diagnóstico Tardio de TEA em Adultos”. Dessa forma, conclui-se que o diagnóstico em adultos é desafiador devido muitos já desenvolveram estratégias compensatórias, nas quais urgem novas abordagens para o tratamento com adaptações personalizadas, voltadas para melhorar a qualidade de vida, promover inclusão social e tratar comorbidades como depressão e ansiedade, sempre ajustando às necessidades específicas da fase adulta.
