Resumo
Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa de caráter crítico e analítico, na pesquisa sobre os principais conceitos no que tange as principais atualizações frente ao diagnóstico e manejo da Infecções do trato urinário (ITU) em pediatria. Foi realizada uma revisão de artigos nas bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) e PubMed, com os seguintes Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS): Infecção do trato urinário; Manejo; Pediatria; Tratamento. são frequentemente observadas entre as infecções bacterianas em crianças. Estudos indicam que até 8% das crianças podem apresentar pelo menos uma cistite entre o primeiro mês e os 11 anos de idade, com até 30% de bebês e crianças experimentando episódios recorrentes durante os primeiros 6 a 12 meses após o episódio inicial. O diagnóstico rápido de ITUs é crucial para iniciar o tratamento apropriado e prevenir morbidade e danos renais. Em crianças, o diagnóstico pode ser complicado pela apresentação clínica variável. Muitas cistites podem não ser detectadas a tempo devido à natureza inespecífica dos sintomas, o que ressalta a necessidade de uma alta suspeição clínica por parte dos pediatras. Uma avaliação completa, incluindo histórico clínico detalhado e exame físico, é essencial.
