Fascite plantar (FP) é a inflamação do tecido denso que ocupa a parte anterior do tubérculo interno do calcâneo e é a causa mais frequente de dor na planta dos pés e dificulta muito o desempenho laboral do indivíduo. É a causa mais comum de dor nessa área do corpo em adultos. Existem muito poucas diretrizes de prática clínica sobre o assunto e as pesquisas existentes são escassas. Dessa forma, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar os diferentes tipos de tratamentos para fascite plantar relatados na literatura. Para a realização deste trabalho, foi feito um levantamento bibliográfico nas bases de dados Cochrane Library Plus, Medline, onde foram utilizados os descritores: fascite plantar, fisioterapia especialidade e tratamento e Lilacs IBECS, IME, PEDro e Enfispo, utilizando como estratégia de busca os Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS): fascite plantar, terapia, dor e fisioterapia. Para a busca de estudos originais na base de dados Medline, por exemplo, foram utilizadas as seguintes equações de busca: "fascite plantar" AND "especialidade fisioterapêutica", "tratamento" AND "fascite plantar", em português e inglês. Pode-se concluir que a fascite plantar atinge grande número de adultos, principalmente aqueles com mais de 40 anos. Para se recuperar dessa lesão, diferentes métodos podem ser aplicados que servem para aliviar ou melhorar total ou parcialmente. Para o tratamento da fascite plantar, muitas intervenções têm sido descritas com uma grande variedade de técnicas fisioterapêuticas, sendo mais frequente a combinação de mais de uma dessas técnicas. Sua eficácia foi comprovada na maioria dos casos.
