Introdução: A crise asmática é uma exacerbação da asma que afeta a qualidade de vida do paciente de maneira súbita, gerando prejuízos pessoais e à saúde pública, e exigindo um manejo imediato. Objetivos: avaliar como é realizada a autogestão de crises asmáticas pelos pacientes acompanhados na Atenção Primária a Saúde (APS) e quais estratégias para melhorar esse acompanhamento. Metodologia: esse estudo consiste em uma revisão integrativa da literatura de caráter quantitativo e qualitativo, com coleta de artigos das bases de dados como Medical Publisher (PUBMED), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e a Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências de Saúde (LILACS) utilizando os descritores “Self-Management”, “Status Asthmaticus” e “Primary Health Care” . Resultados: Na Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS), destacaram-se ferramentas como grupos focais, educação sobre a administração adequada da medicação, diagnósticos diferenciais e telegrupos como eficazes no controle da crise asmática, conforme revelado pela pesquisa. Conclusão: A pesquisa ressaltou a eficácia dos grupos focais na APS para o manejo da crise asmática, mas evidenciou a necessidade de aprimorar outras estratégias para um controle mais abrangente da condição respiratória.
