Abstract

This is a review of the scientific literature with research carried out in the Google Scholar and Pubmed databases with the objective of reporting the impact of the intestinal microbiota on the hospitalized patient, involving other exogenous microorganisms that affect the health of the intestinal microbiota and the process of health-disease in the human body. The microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract, with a diverse constitution and rich in commensal bacteria, has a great relationship with the development and installation of several pathogens in the patient, representing a material of immense importance due to its connection with several systems, such as respiratory and immunological. The hospital environment is identified as a potential for the spread of infections, a situation associated with health care, antibiotic therapy, invasive processes and the patient's condition. It is concluded that the relationship between unstable intestinal microbiota and the hospitalized patient is a problem for the individual's well-being, we hope that the understanding of the connection and the need for a balanced intestinal microbiota for the establishment of homeostasis of the human being completely, allow these microorganisms to be more vigorously protected by more careful treatments.
