Abstract
This article reviews modern approaches to the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA), a chronic joint disease that causes pain and functional limitations. Treatment options include physiotherapy, weight management, medications, and complementary therapies for early-stage OA. For more advanced cases, total joint arthroplasty (TJA) is an effective option, although it involves surgical risks. Patient education plays a crucial role, empowering individuals with information about OA and self-care strategies. Ongoing research aims to develop more effective therapies to address this debilitating condition. The choice of treatment approach should be personalized, taking into consideration the severity of OA, individual needs, and patient treatment goals. Effective OA management involves a multifaceted approach, focusing on pain reduction, improvement in joint function, and the patient's overall quality of life.
