PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO E ETIOLÓGICO DE PACIENTES JOVENS COM IAM NA MACRORREGIÃO OESTE DO PARANÁ ENCAMINHADOS PARA UM HOSPITAL ESCOLA DO PERÍODO DE JANEIRO DE 2018 À JUNHO DE 2023

Abstract

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common cause of death worldwide and refers to disease of the coronary arteries and the resulting complications. More than 90% of CAD events occur in individuals who have at least one risk factor. Non-modifiable risk factors include age, family history of cardiovascular disease, gender and race. The prevalence of AMI increases as both sexes age. At age 65, the incidence of such events is approximately double in men and triple in women compared to age 35. However, it is noted that the occurrence in the group of young adults has increased considerably, mainly due to changes in lifestyle such as smoking and comorbidities such as high blood pressure and obesity. In view of the above, this population sample study aims to investigate the major etiological factors and individual characteristics of young patients referred and/or treated by a Teaching hospital in west of the state of paraná with AMI (acute myocardial infarction) from January 2018 to July 2023, seeking to identify populations more susceptible to such a cardiovascular event and its main causes, seeking to provide information for the development of preventive strategies, faster and more targeted in-hospital approaches to these patients.
