Abstract

The early birth of a newborn can have harmful impacts on the quality of life of a premature baby admitted to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Therefore, timely management by the multidisciplinary team focused on reducing damage is essential in order to preserve neurodevelopment. The study sought to investigate the main intervention strategies of a multidisciplinary team in intensive care and their impacts on the life of a premature baby. This is an integrative review, carried out from 2018 to 2024 using the SciELO, Pubmed, LILACS and Cochane Library databases, with the descriptors “Neuroprotection in the NICU”, “Neuroprotection in RNPT”, “Neuroprotective measures” and “Multidisciplinary team in PTNB care. Articles were found, of which 20 journals were included for the development of the research. The study enabled the emergence of 2 categories: the importance of care in the individualized development of premature newborns, including sleep maintenance, intervention for pain management, control and improvement of the environment; Care technologies for harm reduction such as the implementation of protocols for safe and individualized care.
