Abstract

This article reviews current medical literature on the management of renal trauma, highlighting multidisciplinary approaches and challenges faced in clinical practice. Using databases such as PubMed, Scielo, Scopus and Web of Science, articles published in the last ten years were selected that address diagnostic, therapeutic and follow-up aspects of renal trauma. The analysis focused on surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities, radiological intervention techniques and new emerging therapies, as well as postoperative complications and long-term prognoses. The WSES-AAST guidelines emphasize clinical practice, highlighting the importance of personalized, evidence-based approaches that optimize results. The review concludes that although the conservative approach is often effective, surgery remains crucial in cases of hemodynamic instability or severe injuries.
