Abstract

The text addresses endometriosis, a chronic gynecological condition that causes pelvic pain and fertility problems due to the growth of tissue similar to the endometrium outside the uterus. Various theories about its cause include retrograde menstruation and genetic factors. Diagnosis is challenging, often requiring laparoscopy. A literature review highlights various therapeutic strategies, such as vitamin supplementation, physical activity, psychological therapy, and the use of medications like gestrinone and dienogest. Varied results were found, ranging from the effectiveness of antioxidant supplementation in reducing oxidative stress to the benefits of psychological therapy on patients' quality of life. However, methodological and quality limitations of the studies underscore the need for more research to confirm the findings and determine the relative efficacy of different therapeutic approaches.
