A PERCEPÇÃO DO ENFERMEIRO FRENTE A PREVENÇÃO E AOS IMPACTOS REFERENTE A VIOLÊNCIA OBSTÉTRICA

Abstract

This article addresses the relevance of nurses' actions in preventing and confronting obstetric violence, a serious problem that affects women's physical, mental and reproductive health. Obstetric violence is a worrying reality in Brazil, with alarming statistics that highlight the need for effective actions to combat it.

Nurses play a fundamental role in the health care of pregnant women, and are therefore responsible for offering emotional and physical support, creating a safe and welcoming environment, and collecting evidence in cases of obstetric violence. Furthermore, its role in preventing, identifying and intervening in cases of violence is crucial to ensuring respectful, woman-centered obstetric care.

The referring article aims to complement the training of nurses on the topic of obstetric violence, knowing that it is essential to enable them to recognize the signs of violence, guide pregnant women about their rights, and act ethically and responsibly in the face of situations of abuse. Raising awareness among nursing professionals about obstetric violence contributes to the promotion of humanized care, free from violations and based on respect for women's rights.

The study in this article highlights the importance of raising nurses' awareness of the impacts of obstetric violence on women's lives, emphasizing the need for prevention strategies, early identification and intervention in suspected cases. The creation of educational tools, such as informative folders, and the strengthening of mechanisms for holding perpetrators accountable are essential measures to combat obstetric violence and guarantee quality and safe obstetric care.

Obstetric violence is a complex problem that involves issues of gender, power and inequality, and its approach requires interdisciplinary action and a paradigm shift in maternal health care. Nurses, as health professionals who are on the front line of obstetric care, have the potential to play a fundamental role in preventing and confronting obstetric violence. It is essential that nurses are trained not only technically, but also ethically and emotionally, to deal with situations of obstetric violence in a sensitive, empathetic and effective way. Active listening, acceptance and respect for women's autonomy are essential principles that should guide nurses' practice in obstetric care.

Furthermore, the creation of effective public policies, the implementation of care protocols and the promotion of awareness campaigns are measures that can contribute to the prevention and reduction of obstetric violence. The active involvement of nurses in this process is essential to ensure that pregnant women receive dignified, safe and violation-free care. In a scenario where obstetric violence is still a reality for many women, the role of nurses becomes even more relevant. Through education, advocacy and women-centered care, nurses have the potential to be agents of transformation in promoting maternal health and defending the rights of pregnant women. Therefore, training nurses on the topic of obstetric violence is a crucial step towards building more humanized, respectful and inclusive obstetric care, which values ​​women's experience during the process of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.

In short, the article highlights the importance of training nurses in addressing obstetric violence, aiming to promote women's health and well-being, guarantee their rights and build a fairer and more egalitarian health system. Therefore, this work was based on current literature, and in addition a folder was developed as a tool to assist pregnant women in cases of Obstetric Violence, a manual of good practices aimed at nurses was also created, in order to guide them in the prevention, and show types of actions that are condemned as obstetric violence.
