Abstract

Introduction: Early detection of cardiovascular diseases is crucial for effective diagnosis and treatment. The use of Doppler ultrasound images has been studied as a promising tool in this context. Objective: This review aims to present an overview of selected references addressing the early detection of cardiovascular diseases through Doppler ultrasound images. Materials and Methods: Scientific articles were searched in online and free databases using the descriptors: "Cardiovascular Diseases," "Early Detection," and "Doppler Ultrasound." An integrative review was conducted, considering studies that explored the benefits of Doppler Ultrasound in the early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. Results: Ribeiro et al.'s (2015) study focused on the analysis of Doppler waves in peripheral vessels as a tool for detecting heart diseases in the elderly. The results demonstrated the relevance of this method in the early identification of cardiovascular diseases in this specific population. Another significant study was conducted by Araújo et al. (2015), investigating cerebral hemodynamics using Doppler ultrasound in pregnant women with chronic hypertension. The results highlighted the usefulness of this method for monitoring cardiovascular health during pregnancy. The selected references also addressed the detection of cardiac alterations in different clinical contexts. De Sousa Franklin et al. (2021) investigated cardiac alterations through fetal echocardiography and identified associated risk factors. Meanwhile, Soares et al.'s (2015) study evaluated the accuracy of strain by speckle tracking for detecting myocardial fibrosis in individuals with Chagas disease. The studies included in this review demonstrated the importance of Doppler ultrasound in the early detection of cardiovascular diseases. This technique can provide valuable information about vascular hemodynamics, cardiac function, and other relevant parameters. Early detection enables more effective therapeutic interventions, leading to better clinical outcomes for patients. Conclusion: The use of Doppler ultrasound images has proven to be a promising approach for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases. The application of these methods can significantly contribute to identifying vascular and cardiac alterations, allowing for early interventions and improving clinical outcomes. However, further studies are needed to enhance the standardization and clinical use of these techniques, aiming for more accurate diagnosis and effective management of cardiovascular diseases.
