Resumo

O penfigóide das membranas mucosas descreve como grupo de doenças bolhosas mucocutâneas crônicas, autoimunes. As manifestações orais são percebidas na maioria dos pacientes, mas pode ocorrer em outras localizações, tais como a mucosa conjuntival, nasal, esofágica, laríngea e a vaginal, bem como a pele. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo relatar um caso de penfigóide oral e revisar a literatura atual sobre o tema, tais como finalidade de diagnóstico e tratamento. A revisão de literatura foi conduzida através de uma busca na literatura científica indexada nas bases de dados científicos tais como Scielo, PubMed, Lilacs, Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde e também de bibliografia teórica acadêmica. Apesar do penfigóide oral não ser uma condição tão comum em consultórios odontológicos, é de extrema importância o conhecimento sobre estas lesões orais, realizando o correto diagnóstico e encaminhar estes pacientes para o tratamento adequado. Com isso podemos concluir com este artigo que o penfigóide da membrana mucosa é uma patologia crônica, e em alguns casos se manifesta de forma mais agressiva, mas raramente fatal. Sendo assim o tratamento dependerá do local, taxa de progressão e gravidade da manifestação da patologia.
