Abstract
The postpartum period is a critical phase in the lives of many women, marked by significant emotional and physical changes. Anxiety disorder is a growing concern during this period, often associated with low self-esteem. This integrative review seeks to understand the relationship between anxiety disorders and low self-esteem in the postpartum period, exploring the literature to identify risk factors, impacts, and intervention strategies. The aim of this study is to conduct an integrative review focusing on the relationship between anxiety disorders and low self-esteem in the postpartum period. Literature Search: We conducted a comprehensive search in scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and relevant sources. We considered studies published in the last 10 years to ensure the currency of information. The integrative review revealed that the relationship between anxiety disorders and low self-esteem in the postpartum period is complex. Factors such as hormonal changes, social pressures, and the stress associated with caring for a newborn can contribute to anxiety and low self-esteem in postpartum mothers. These factors are often interconnected, with anxiety triggering and exacerbating low self-esteem. The study highlights the importance of recognizing and addressing the relationship between anxiety disorders and low self-esteem in the postpartum period. Awareness, early identification, and support for mothers facing these challenges are crucial for promoting maternal health and the well-being of the baby. Furthermore, public health policies should focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and effective treatment of these disorders to ensure a healthy transition to motherhood and a better quality of life for postpartum mothers.
