Abstract
Introduction: The dentistry provides health and well-being to the general population by carrying out dental treatments that aim to improve various problems, from cavities to dissatisfaction with the aesthetics of their teeth. Therefore, restorative treatment of anterior teeth with composite resins is an option that can satisfy the aesthetic-functional demands of patients. Objective: To evaluate, through an integrative literature review, the survival rate of composite resin restorations in anterior teeth. Methodology: Electronic searches were carried out in the following databases: PubMed, BVS and SCIELO. Initially, the keywords were strategically selected to find all articles that addressed the topic of the integrative review. Then, the keywords were combined according to the databases using Boolean operators. The articles were initially selected by reading the title and abstract, some articles were read in full to check whether they were actually included in the review. After selecting all articles that met the inclusion criteria, a description of the main results was made. Results: After evaluating the articles according to the criteria used for inclusion and exclusion, 07 articles were selected for a qualitative analysis. It has been found that the survival of composite resin depends on a series of crucial factors that must be carefully considered. Conclusion: The professional's skill and the execution of the appropriate technique are essential factors for the greater longevity of restorative treatments with composite resin on anterior teeth, guaranteeing a high quality aesthetic and functional result.
