Abstract
Introduction: Vestibular Schwannoma (VS), also known as acoustic neuroma, is a benign tumor originating from the Schwann cells of the vestibulocochlear nerve. It is one of the most common benign intracranial tumors. Clinically, it presents with unilateral hearing loss and tinnitus. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is essential for its diagnosis, with Computed Tomography (CT) being an alternative. Treatment varies from observation to surgical resection and radiotherapy. Objective: To analyze the diagnoses and treatments of VS through a systematic review of clinical cases. Method: A search was conducted on PubMed following PRISMA guidelines, including original studies of VS cases between 2015 and 2025. Ten studies were selected for analysis. Results: MRI predominated as the diagnostic method, and auditory symptoms were the most common. Treatments ranged from surgical approaches to conservative strategies. Although MRI is superior for diagnosis and surgical treatment prevails, conservative approaches can be useful. Conclusion: Complications, such as irreversible hearing loss, remain a challenge, making an interdisciplinary and individualized approach essential.
